Days Gone Cairn Locations Video Guide

Are you trying to go for the Days Gone Platinum?  The Platinum trophy for Days Gone is relatively easy to get, but one of the obscure trophies requires you to find the Anarchist Cairns.  Use this free Days Gone Cairn Locations Video Guide to help you find and knock down the cairns to unlock the ‘Go Kick Rocks‘ trophy.

Days Gone Cairn Locations – How to Find and How Many?

Cairns are man-made piles or stack of stones.  You only need to find and kick down 12 Anarchist Cairns, but there are over 12 of them in the game.  I have found at least 14 so far.  There is no collectible map in-game that would help you find them.  You just have to use your eyes to search the environment.

In the trophies menu located in the Storylines pause screen (in-game), you can track the number of cairns you’ve knocked down.  However there is no way to know which specific cairn you’ve knocked down.  So you’re going to have to keep them in memory.

Days Gone Cairn Locations – The Cairn Cave

If you’ve played the game thoroughly enough to get to the South region, you can begin accepting jobs from Kouri.  Kouri is the camp leader for Diamond Lake.  One of the jobs he will assign you late in the game is called ‘Just Doing My Job‘.  This mission will take you to an Anarchist Mineshaft, where you will discover a whole mess of cairns.

You can find a total of 8 cairns in this mineshaft cave.  This means you only need to locate (and kick down) at least 4 out in the open world.  Then you don’t have to worry much anymore about unlocking the trophy.

The ‘Go Kick Rocks‘ trophy is not missable.  That is because the game will open up accessibility to all regions, after completing the main story of the game.

Days Gone Cairn Locations – All 14

  1. Cairn 1 is located in the northeast area of the Cascade region.  It is just north of a small Anarchist camp.
  2. Western side of the Belknap region.  Cairn 2 is right in front of the Rebel Rock Cave.  Be careful of the horde.  It’s better to go during the day.
  3. Just south of the previous cairn location.  You’ll need nitrous to make a jump to reach Cairn 3.
  4. You may not be able to reach Cairn 4 until you can access the Iron Butte area.  Once you cross over, it’s near a small Anarchist camp.
  5. In the snowy regions of Crater Lake, you’ll pass by Cairn 5 naturally on a story mission.
  6. Another cairn that requires the nitrous upgrade.  You might need Nitrous 2 upgrade for this.  Cairn 6 can be found after the two jumps.

Cairns 7-14 are found within an Anarchist Mineshaft, also in the snowy region of Crater lake (north of Highway 97).  It’s hard to describe the exact placement of these, so a video guide is best.

Closing Remarks

I hope you found this guide helpful.  You can leave a comment below — your support is appreciated.  You can also donate to the site.  One final tip I will leave you with to help you get the Platinum.  Make sure to loot all the human enemy corpses that you come across.  This unlocks the ‘You’ve Got Red on You‘ trophy.  It requires you to collect 541 items from corpses.

Freaker ears don’t count.  Human civilians that have died also don’t count.  It must be from human enemies you’ve killed.  If you can’t collect something because your inventory is full, it also won’t count (so use/craft if you can, to free up space).  After you’ve beaten the game, there are very few human enemies left and I had to collect over 140 items.  You can still find some random marauder encounters, however.

The only remaining trophies I needed to work towards was the drifting for 10 minutes one, but that is not a hassle.  ‘The Broken Roadshow‘ trophy requires you to collect over 75% of the collectibles.  You can get this without going out of your way as long as you search and play the game thoroughly.  I didn’t have to worry about it, and ended up with 78%.  Good luck!
