Another Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trailer To Get You Hyped

Straight from the 2019 Game Awards, Square-Enix released a brand new trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

The game is really shaping up nicely.  Full English voice-acting for all characters and realistic graphics really stand out.  You can tell Square-Enix has really put the work in to not disappoint.

The trailer ends with a crescendo of the classic Final Fantasy 7 Battle theme which never fails to get me hyped up.

I played the original Final Fantasy 7 on the original Playstation back in the late 90’s.  It’s difficult to really explain the magic of that game because it’s so tied to that part of my life and that era.

Square-Enix looks to revitalize the game for this new generation and it looks to be every bit as special.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Classic Mode

Final Fantasy 7 Remake has adopted an action-oriented approach where attacking, dodging, and main combat elements happen in real-time.  I’ve come to prefer this type of gameplay over the traditional turn-based RPG gameplay.

Fear not though turn-based fans, Square-Enix hasn’t forgotten about you, and have included the ‘Classic Mode’.  This mode emulates the older style that you were familiar with in the original game.

Character fight automatically so you just have to focus on the commands.  This gameplay is also for those that may not be adept at action-style games.  You can read more about it here on the Square-Enix blog post.

Summons Return

Final Fantasy 7 is based on the Materia system.  Each character can equip one Summon materia.  Once the Summon materia is equipped, regular attacks will fill up the a Summon Gauge.

Once the gauge is filled, that character can request them for to fight in battle.  The Summons fight on their own, but you can use characters ATB gauges to use certain Summon techniques.

Once the Summon Gauge has depleted, the Summon exits with a final ultimate attack.
