Genshin Impact Announcement Trailer

Check out the new announcement trailer for Genshin Impact — soon to be released in Spring 2020 for PS4.  Looks a lot like Breath of the Wild, doesn’t it?

They don’t hide it and even admit the game’s aesthetics are it’s inspiration.

The wild landscape may look familiar, but there are also other environments, like ruins and cities you can explore.

The character designs are alright, but the faces seem to lack character and individuality.  We’ll see how it develops if we get English voices to allow the personalities to emerge.

Aeons ago, the elder elemental gods gave civilization to the human race, but the world soon splintered as corruption and greed grew without check. The gods watched from their abode in Celestia and selected the worthy to sit by their side and maintain the balance that hold the world together in one piece.

From the gameplay side, it seems you control multiple characters, each with unique skills.  There will also be giant boss battles you can undertake.

Explore the world of Tevyat, with one of the characters Amber.  Watch the video below with English closed captions.

The game looks beautiful.  We’ll have to learn more about this one next Spring.  It’s coming to PC, iOS, as well as PS4.

They had a Beta test in late June which is now over.  You can still register to be included in future Betas here.

In the meanwhile, check out the official website since it’s pretty cool: https://genshin.mihoyo.com/
